Initially, our research was set around discovering teens’ current behavior patterns, wants, and needs. In our early meetings with our nonprofit partner we learned that teens generally seek advice about sex and sexual health from their peers. However, that advice is usually inaccurate. Learning this we delved into deeper research on communication utilizing intercepts, analogous interviews, desk research, and cultural probs. Patterns and insights began to form. We found over and over again that true connection develops through vulnerable, authentic communication. This insight was the foundation for our platform, Spark, aimed at creating authentic conversations between parent and child.
